I study American politics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I specialize in American Politics and Political Methodology. My dissertation poses the question: Why does how we talk about issues sometimes influence policy? In this work, I am developing a method of classifying arguments used in debates over time. I earned my B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from The Ohio State University in May 2013, and I earned my M.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in August 2015. I expect to finish my Ph.D. in the Spring of 2018. For information about my research and teaching interests, see the links above.
